ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 17 for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division will see ten races over two nights in five different states. Due to several rainouts this season, drivers are still trying to reach the 14-week mark of their seasons. The top three drivers in the National point standings have competed for 12 weeks.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a $10,000 point fund check and a trophy.

Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 17 competition for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division begins on Friday night with the $1,000-to-win Back The Blue Sheriff Tommy Hickerson Memorial Race. Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will also present the Late Models in Friday night.
