Good to hear. I have watched a lot of video's from 2018 racing and there are Numerous track's that need Safety improvements. I hope that All track's and Management team's make the Safety of our Loved ones more of a Priority! Especially after last year and the loss of 2 Great racer's! R.I.P. #41 & #27 !!

Dirt track Facilities need to Improve and Update: #1. Lighting! (Poor lighting on Track and Pit areas). #2. Walls and Fencing! (Walls damaged and Jutting out, Fencing too weak to keep cars contained and Spectator's safe) #3. Track surface Preperation! (Put more Time and Effort into watering and Packing track surfaces to Prevent Damage to Race Car's). How many Cars were tore up and damaged last Season due to racing on Ruff and Rutted up surfaces?

While they may need to look into these upgrades. Margins are so thin that most cannot afford to do so.

Lack of funding is the main reason. Operation cost is high and profit margins are slim. That is if you do not have a large number of rainouts.

There is weather insurance you can get. But it is usually for single events such as fairs and festivals or special races. A one time premium for a single event. The cost of buying such insurance every week would put a dent in the operating budget of many track owners.

An associate operated a track in the eastern part of middle Tn one year but lost so much they could not continue the operation.

Even established tracks are going to a lot of track lease events to cover operational cost.

Doesn't matter if you run or rain out you still have the cost of prep, taxes, liability insurance, and other costs. You are several thousands of dollars in the hole each week before you even open the doors.

Why are there Alot successful and Safe race Track's operating in this Country? 90% of Dirt Tracks in this Country were built over 10 years ago. When a Track/Facility changes Ownership/Management it is the Responsibility of the New owner's to make Safety of All their Consumer's a Priority! There is No Excuse to Operate these Track's on a Shoestring Budget any more!! Unless of course the Fan's enjoy watching People get Killed or Injured due to the lack of Funding to these Track's. I don't believe the Team's and Driver's enjoy tearing up Expensive cars and Suspension parts, due to the lack Funding proper Track Maintenance eguipment and Preparation!!

Unfortunately, I don't believe any Safety improvements have taken place. And if the past few Years are any indication, once again Track Management will make Excuses as to why they aren't able to make the Facilities safe for All of their Customer's!

I know for a fact that the previous owners at RIS and current owners have made safety upgrades.

They do not have IPO and millions in market cap they can use to make the massive upgrades. But they have made upgrades.

In the past, the Insurance provider had mandated changes and they were made.

Also, all the guard rails on the outside were replaced after the current owner bought the track.

A new catch fence and cable system were installed on both straights.

Sometimes it is hard to pay a note on the track and then make needed upgrades. And sometimes there are things they want to do which must be delayed.

But I think you will see more and more improvements including safety over the next few years.
