This weekend. 37 cars 51 just 4 years ago.
14 (P) 9 DPi, 5 P2
9 (GTLM)
14 (GTD)
Thought the idea behind going back to ACO based rules was so international cars would show up for Daytona 24 Hours and Petite Lemans. Series had to hog tie the DPi in order to allow the Spec P2 cars to be competitive.
Only 3 P2 ran the entire season and two of those are switching to DPi next year. Splitting DPi and P2 into separate classes next season. So it looks as if we may be back to a single car class in 2019.
Even worst is the Continential Tires line up.
25 (Grand Sport) (GT4 rules)
9 (Touring Car)
5 (Street Tuner)
Can remember not that long ago that GS and ST both had 30+ cars each.
P3/PC race
P3 (17)
PC (10) moved from main series to support class.
Porsche GT3 Cup
GT3 Cup USA Platinum (15)
GT3 Cup USA Gold (13 _________________
