I think he was won 2 or 3 other features there this year. He probably was cheating to get those wins too. I don't think he's won any races anywhere else so that must be the only track where that BIG MOTOR really helps him out.

Results are as follows:
1. Lost 1st place money because of cubic inches
2. Lost counter protest money because 2nd place car was legal
3. Lost track championship
4. Lost some fans
5. Possible loss of sponsors
6. Loss of confidence because it will be harder to win with much smaller motor
I've never seen so much losing in one night.

How's that for results?

^^^^ Makes you wonder why he even bothered to tear down. Did he think they wouldn't find it? I would've just refused and gotten dq'd upfront.

There used to be a limited modified class in the Dallas area back in the eighties. It had a 310 cubic inch limit, so some guys ran 307s and maybe a few ran 283s. The local track champ at Cowtown Speedway had a backup engine that was actually a 327. It was nowhere near as good as the 307s he was building, but it would stand the high revs of the class so he would run it until he got another legal engine. One week he lent the 327 to a friend and advised him it was illegal, and the friend wins the feature with it. A few weeks later he had to put it back in his own car and also won the feature. His buddy who had borrowed the engine protested him! He told the tech guy "nope, not tearing down. I know what's in it..." I'm assuming he and his buddy are no longer buddies.
