|At least one track is shutting down for a few weeks because of the tire shortage.
Tires are harder and harder to find and those that they do find are not holding up.
Manufacturers are trying hard to increase production and meet demand, but doing so creates another problem.
The tires are not getting time to cure properly and are chunking off in pieces.
Maybe it is time to bite the bullet and give manufacturers time to rebuild their stock.
Maybe it's time for tracks to shorten their usual season.
Instead of running into late October and November, they should look at shutting down after September.
Maybe it is time for the touring series to shorten their season also.
Just for one season do not run so late into the year and give the factories time to catch up on their supplies of tires.
This would also give the tires time to cure properly so they won't fall apart under race conditions.
This could also tend to lower the prices of the tires.
If tire makers do not have the chance to replenish supplies then we will be going through this same thing again next season as races go through tires faster than manufacturers can make them.
