Gregg Satterlee Returns to Eldora Speedway Victory Lane
ULMS Double Dip at Thunder Mountain Speedway Up Next
INDIANA, Pa. (09/14/21) – Friday night found Gregg Satterlee visiting Eldora Speedway’s Victory Lane for the second time in 2021 in his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Keyser Manufacturing/ Valvoline/ Classic Ink/ XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.
Holding off a hard-charging Bobby Pierce, Satterlee claimed a $10,000 victory in preliminary action for the 50th World 100 to push his 2021-win total to 10. The Pennsylvania racer picked up his first-career Eldora Speedway win back in June during the Dirt Late Model Dream.
"I was a little worried. I know he's (Bobby Pierce) really good here. I was glad to see the checkered flag fly," Satterlee said while picking up his $10,000 paycheck in Eldora’s famed Victory Lane. "Nothing's for sure at these races, but it's fun getting up on this stage. It's awesome to see a huge crowd ... there's nothing like this place. I've gotta thank crew chief Robby Allen. We were working really hard at making this race car faster, and we wound up and swung for the fence in this feature, and I think we definitely got ahold of something."
Gregg Satterlee trekked to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Wednesday afternoon to compete in preliminary action for the 51st annual World 100. With the 80-car field split into two groups, Gregg laid down the 10th-fastest time in his group before placing second in his heat race. Slipping six spots in the 30-lap preliminary feature, Satterlee recorded an eighth-place finish.
Earning the second-starting position for his heat race on Thursday, Satterlee outran Chris Ferguson to pick up the 20-lap victory. Starting the $54,000-to-win World 100 in sixth, Gregg dropped three spots in the 100-lap affair to place ninth.
On Friday afternoon as the 50th annual World 100 got underway, Gregg’s second-place finish in his heat race placed him on the pole for his preliminary feature. Leading wire-to-wire in the 25-lap affair, Satterlee raced to his 10th win of the season, which came over Bobby Pierce, Brandon Sheppard, Nick Hoffman, and Tim McCreadie. He earned $10,000 for the triumph.
Rolling off third in his heat race on Saturday, Satterlee came one spot shy of a transfer position with a fourth-place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Recording a second-place finish, Gregg locked into the 24th-starting position for the 50th annual World 100. With $53,000 on the line, Satterlee was an early retiree from the 100-lapper on the 28th circuit. He was credited with a 25th-place finish.
