Nothing free market about it. Vast majority are drug addicted and abused by their handlers.

If you were going to try and make a legal argument instead of using the free market angle you should have went with the it's her body to as she wish angle.

More like the "government overreach" angle that conservatives pretend to uphold only when it suits their agenda. If a woman wants to get paid to perform a duty, then why is this illegal in this "free" country?

I donít believe the feds have anything to do with it. Isnít it a state by state deal? Why, you thinking about whorin yourself out?

I never said anything about whether or not Fed vs State. What is the reason for making this illegal?

Probably because #1, itís too hard to track and collect taxes and #2, human trafficking.

How is it human trafficking?

How is it any harder to track andee tax than house cleaning services or cutting grass? Should those be illegal as well?

Iím sure pimps would be on the up and up, lol

What purpose does a pimp serve if prostitution is legal?

You don't believe there is such a thing as human trafficking for sex, do you?

We're talking about legalizing prostitution and you're deflecting to human trafficking. LOL.

So, if it was legal would that do away with human trafficking and pimps?

The repeal of prohibition was a big hit to the mafia and the moonshiners. So yeah.

So, there is no longer any mafia or bootlegging?

There's a mafia, but alchohol isn't keeping them in business.

The governmental efforts to control prostitution are typically in the disease and trafficking endeavors. There will never be an end to prostitution as it is the oldest occupation ever known to mankind. That said, I do respect all of the efforts of the governmental agencies to do their best to fight the disease and trafficking undercurrents that prostitution tends to promote.

There are hundreds of occupations that generally operate under the radar of the IRS and other taxing entities. Laws are passed every year that attempt to quell those violations but they still remain rampant throughout our society. How is it that some of the western states seem to control the occupational whoring venue but other states totally reject it? Taxing whoring can very easily be done but first you have to recognize it as a legitimate source of taxable income. That includes pimps as well. Pimps serve a very useful duty for their whores.
