CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 11 of the 27-week Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season was a winning one for three of the four point leaders. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS, Lee Ray of Columbus, MS, and Tody Ratcliff of Meridian, MS won in their respective Divisions over the weekend.

Scarbrough picked up his fifth Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division win of the season on Saturday night at his home track, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS. Scarbrough has 539 points to top the points list with a 16 point margin over Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS. Scarbrough also has the highest Weekly Point Average (WPA) at 49 out of a possible 50.

In just a few weeks, the Top 10 in the point standings of each of the four Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions will begin to see some big changes, as drivers begin to reach the 14-week mark of their respective seasons.

The defending Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Late Model National Champion Josh Leonard of Gibbon, NE and Delbert Smith of Wichita, KS are tied for second on the WPA list at 48.43, but they are both currently outside the Top 10 in the point standings. While drivers in the Top 10 of the points have competed in either 11 or 10 weeks of competition, Leonard and Smith have only raced for seven weeks.

The 2012 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Late Model National Champion Chase Washington of Houlka, MS is tied for fourth with Dusty Leonard of Marysville, KS on the WPA list. Washington is fourth in the National points over 10 weeks, and Leonard is 20th in the standings after competing for seven weeks.

Josh Leonard took his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE, and Dusty Leonard was a winner for the third time this season on Saturday night at Salina Speedway in Salina, KS. Steve Russell of Pontotoc, MS is third in the point standings and ninth on the WPA list. Russell took the win on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL.

Ray has an eight-point lead in the National point standings over Bryan Fortner of Millport, AL. Ray and Fortner are fifth and seventh respectively on the WPA list at 47.27 for Ray, and 46.54 for Fortner.

Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS continued his winning ways in Week 11 Street Stock competition with his ninth and tenth victories of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway and on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway. Idom is at the top of the WPA list at 49.80, and he is third in the National point standings with one less week of racing that Lee and Fortner.

Ratcliff is tenth on the WPA list at 44.91, and Mitchell is fifth at 46.

Todd Clemmons is second on the WPA list at 47.42 and Randy Alexander is third on the WPA at 46.57. Both drivers have raced for seven weeks. Haden Duncan of Leighton, AL is fourth on the WPA list and he won on Friday night at Moulton Speedway. Also winning on Friday night was Jamie Pickard of Columbus, MS at Columbus Speedway.

Oakley Gillespie took his second win of the season on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway. Gillespie is fifth in the National Standings, and fifth on the WPA list.

Three of the top four drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division did not compete in Week 11 action due to a rainout in the middle of the Saturday night program at Talladega Short Track. Andy Davis holds a five-point lead in the National standings over Ron Bailey, who used a third-place finish on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway to move up to the second spot.

Davis at 38.88 and Bailey at 38.25 have both competed in eight weeks of Weekly Racing Series action and are third and fourth respectively on the WPA list.
